Distilled in 2021 and matured for three years in an ex-bourbon cask, this release captures the vibrant and energetic character that has rapidly established Shizuoka as one of Japan’s most exciting modern whisky producers. Bottled at 52.7% ABV, the whisky delivers exceptional structure, balance and intensity despite its youthful age.

The "The Dragon Awakes" series celebrates a new era of Japanese whisky craftsmanship, highlighting distinctive distilleries through collectible chapter releases inspired by strength, mythology and modern Japanese whisky culture. Chapter 4 turns its focus to Shizuoka, a distillery celebrated for its use of legendary former Karuizawa stills, direct wood-fired distillation and commitment to traditional production methods. The series pairs striking visual presentation with carefully selected single cask whiskies that reflect the individuality of each distillery.
Tasting Notes:
Bright citrus zest, vanilla cream and fresh malt lead on the nose alongside subtle floral notes and delicate oak. The palate is rich and oily with layers of honey, buttered pastry, candied lemon and soft spice balanced by youthful vibrancy and bourbon cask sweetness. The finish is long and warming, carrying lingering citrus oils, white pepper, toasted oak and elegant malt complexity.
