Cask Le Sens 2013 Smögen 12 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Whisky is a powerful and deeply characterful Scandinavian release distilled at Sweden’s acclaimed Smögen Distillery in 2013 and bottled in 2025 after 12 years of maturation. Matured in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead, this single cask expression combines Smögen’s distinctive coastal peat character with rich sherried complexity, resulting in an intensely layered and memorable whisky experience. With only 274 bottles released worldwide, this is an exceptionally limited bottling created for Cask Le Sens, Casky and The Antelope.

This release forms part of the “New Year Dala” series, a cross-border collaboration between Cask Le Sens (Hong Kong), Casky and The Antelope (Macau), created to celebrate the festive season through exceptional whisky and distinctive cultural artwork. The label is inspired by the iconic Swedish Dala Horse a handcrafted wooden horse with more than 400 years of heritage originating from Sweden’s Dalarna region. Traditionally symbolising prosperity, happiness and good fortune, the Dala Horse has become one of Sweden’s most recognisable cultural emblems.

For this special release, ten hand-painted horses are featured on the label, representing both the vibrant spirit of Lunar New Year and the blessing of “perfect completeness” a wish for harmony, success and prosperity in the year ahead.

Tasting Notes:
Deep coastal smoke intertwines with rich PX sherry sweetness, creating layers of dark cocoa, roasted coffee beans and tobacco leaf. Notes of cedar wood, dried berries and caramelised nuts develop alongside earthy peat and medicinal undertones. The palate is oily and full-bodied with tarry smoke, liquorice, eucalyptus and subtle citrus freshness balanced by sweet dark fruit and cocoa bitterness. The finish is long, warming and complex, carrying lingering ash, walnuts, salty maritime notes and elegant sherried richness.
