The Club Qing 2013 Caol Ila 11 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a bold and contemporary Islay release distilled at the renowned Caol Ila Distillery in 2013 and bottled in 2024 after 11 years of maturation. Finished in a First Fill Oloroso Hogshead, this limited single cask release combines Caol Ila’s signature coastal peat smoke with rich sherried depth and complexity. Bottled at natural cask strength, only 282 bottles were produced worldwide, making it a highly collectible release for lovers of modern Islay whisky.

This bottling forms part of Club Qing’s “Retrofuturism” series, an artistic label collection inspired by retro science fiction and futuristic aviation themes. Club Qing, one of Hong Kong’s most respected independent bottlers and whisky bars, has developed a strong reputation for sourcing unique single cask releases with striking visual presentation and exceptional cask selection. The “Propeller Plane” artwork featured on this release reflects the adventurous and collectible nature of the series.
Tasting Notes:
A powerful and smoky Islay profile layered with rich sherry influence. Notes of ash, salted liquorice, dark chocolate and charred oak are balanced by citrus peel, smoked malt and dried fruits. The palate is oily and full-bodied with hints of tar, iodine, mocha and dark bread, leading into a long, warming finish filled with lingering peat smoke, spice and maritime salinity.
