Imperial Distillery was originally founded in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and developed a cult following after its closure due to the rarity and quality of its remaining stocks. The Director’s Special label from The Single Malts of Scotland represents some of Elixir Distillers’ finest and rarest cask selections, often featuring long-aged single malts from lost or iconic distilleries.

Tasting Notes:
Elegant aromas of buttered popcorn, apple crumble, custard and soft baking spice open on the nose. The palate delivers layers of rhubarb sweets, lemon sherbet, orange blossom, honey and gentle waxy oak with subtle herbal complexity. Delicate notes of apricot, peach, milk chocolate and white pepper evolve throughout, leading into a long, refined finish with lingering citrus zest, soft spice and mature oak character.
