Lucky Choice 2013 Aberlour 12 Year Old Mizunara Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinctive Speyside release distilled in 2013 and matured for 12 years before being bottled at natural cask strength. Finished in a rare Mizunara oak cask, this limited single cask expression combines the rich, fruit-forward character of Aberlour with the elegant spice and incense-like complexity that Japanese Mizunara oak is celebrated for. Bottled exclusively for Lucky Choice, this release offers a unique fusion of Scottish whisky tradition and Japanese oak influence.

The Lucky Choice label series is known for selecting unique single cask whiskies that showcase innovative maturation techniques and exceptional flavour profiles. This Mizunara cask release highlights the growing influence of Japanese oak maturation within the whisky world, pairing Aberlour’s classic Speyside richness with the refined sandalwood, incense and exotic spice notes often associated with Mizunara oak.
Tasting Notes:
Fresh orchard fruits, pear and green apple open on the nose alongside honeyed malt, soft vanilla and delicate sandalwood aromas from the Mizunara oak. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, revealing layers of citrus, roasted nuts, cacao, gentle coffee bitterness and warming spice balanced by elegant oak influence. The finish is long and refined, carrying notes of incense, soft tobacco, mocha and lingering woody spice.
