Penderyn has played a defining role in the modern revival of Welsh whisky. Established in 2000 in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, the distillery became the first Welsh whisky distillery in more than a century, with its first single malt released on St David’s Day in 2004. Penderyn has since developed a distinctive house style centred around elegant fruit, freshness and a remarkably clean spirit character. The introduction of this 12 Year Old represents a significant milestone for the distillery, bringing extended maturation into its permanent range while retaining the bright and approachable qualities associated with Penderyn. Twelve years in oak adds greater depth and structure, allowing richer fruit, vanilla and spice to develop while maintaining the freshness at the heart of the distillery’s character.

Tasting Notes:

The aroma opens with complex nuances of red berries and ripe plums, meeting the delicate sweetness of light honey. Subtle vanilla and a hint of oak spice lend the bouquet an elegant depth.
