Released as part of Signatory Vintage’s prestigious Cask Strength Collection – Symington’s Choice, this remarkable single cask was matured in a 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, bringing together Glenburgie’s naturally elegant and fruit-driven spirit with the deep richness of Oloroso sherry. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 53.2%, with a limited outturn of just 624 bottles, this is a highly collectible expression showcasing ripe orchard fruit, luscious honeyed sweetness and beautifully integrated sherry character after three decades of maturation.

Founded in 1988, Signatory Vintage has established itself as one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers, renowned for selecting exceptional individual casks and presenting whisky with minimal intervention. Symington’s Choice represents a particularly prestigious selection within the Cask Strength Collection, showcasing individual casks selected by Signatory founder Andrew Symington. Glenburgie remains relatively uncommon as a standalone single malt, with much of its production historically forming an important component of Ballantine’s blends. Its naturally fragrant and fruit-forward Speyside character responds beautifully to extended maturation, while the First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt adds richness and depth without losing the elegant orchard-fruit character at the heart of the spirit.

Tasting Notes:
The aroma is beautifully fruit-driven, opening with ripe peach and crisp apple alongside an intense concentration of fine dried fruits. With time, deeper sherry notes emerge beneath the fresh orchard character, bringing raisins, figs and subtle touches of mature oak. The palate is rich and wonderfully textured, with liquid honey providing a luscious sweetness before the distinctive depth of Oloroso sherry begins to unfold. Ripe fruits, dried raisins and gentle oak spice add further complexity while the mature Glenburgie spirit retains an impressive elegance. The finish is long, refined and beautifully balanced, with lingering honeyed sweetness and Oloroso richness complemented by persistent fruity accents and softly integrated mature oak.
