Released as part of Signatory Vintage’s 100 Proof – Exceptional Cask Edition #17, this mysterious “Speyside (M)” expression is widely understood to originate from the legendary Macallan Distillery. Matured entirely in 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts and bottled at a powerful 57.1% ABV, this is a deeply concentrated and classically styled Speyside whisky, combining mature spirit with layers of dark fruit, chocolate, spice and rich Oloroso character.

Tasting Notes:
The aroma is immediately rich and layered, with ripe figs, raisins and juicy orange wrapped in the deep, vinous character of Oloroso sherry. Dark chocolate, dried dates and brown sugar develop alongside touches of seasoned oak and gentle spice. The palate is powerful and concentrated, delivering fig jam, dried fruits and rich sherry sweetness balanced by dark chocolate, cinnamon, clove and increasingly structured oak. Despite the substantial 57.1% strength, the whisky carries impressive depth and balance, with the mature spirit standing confidently against the intensity of the first-fill sherry casks. The finish is long and gradually drying, with dark chocolate, black tea, brown sugar and lingering oak spice leaving a rich and persistent final impression.
