Tasting Notes:
The aroma is immediately expressive and full of character, with distinctive peat smoke wrapped around vibrant lemon and bright citrus fruits. Soft malt, creamy vanilla and a gentle coastal quality sit underneath, giving the smoke plenty of depth without becoming overly heavy. On the palate, sweet caramel and creamy vanilla provide a rich counterpoint to assertive peat, while citrus oils, malt and a subtle peppery spice add freshness and complexity. The texture is powerful yet beautifully balanced at cask strength. The finish is long and persistent, with lingering peat smoke gradually softening into malt, vanilla and caramel sweetness, leaving behind a warming touch of spice and classic Islay smoke.
