Released as part of Signatory Vintage’s The Monuments of Scotland collection, this expression received a finish in a First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, adding considerable depth and richness to Auchentoshan’s naturally delicate, fruit-driven spirit. Bottled at 50.8% ABV without added colouring or chill filtration, this is an impressive interpretation of the distillery’s famously elegant triple-distilled character.

The Monuments of Scotland collection celebrates Scotland’s historic landmarks while showcasing carefully selected single malts from across the country. Auchentoshan itself is particularly distinctive as one of Scotland’s best-known practitioners of triple distillation, traditionally producing a lighter and more refined spirit. Here, the substantial influence of Oloroso sherry creates an intriguing contrast, adding darker fruit, nuts and spice while still leaving room for the distillery’s underlying character.

Tasting Notes:
Rich dried fruits and raisins open alongside raspberry, candied orange and a touch of polished cigar box. With time, deeper notes of mocha, roasted nuts and dark chocolate emerge, balanced by Auchentoshan’s lighter citrus and fruit character. The palate brings figs, candied orange and juicy red fruits together with almonds, nutmeg and creamy chocolate, while the Oloroso influence adds a pleasantly dense, nutty richness. The finish is warming and persistent, with orange peel, mocha, cashew and white pepper gradually fading into lingering sherry sweetness and gentle oak spice.
