Blair Athol is particularly well suited to sherry maturation, with its naturally substantial, nutty and malty spirit providing an excellent foundation for the darker fruit and richness of Oloroso. This release demonstrates that combination beautifully, offering an approachable yet powerful style with plenty of cask influence while retaining the weight and character of the underlying distillate.

Tasting Notes:
A generous opening of sweet red fruits, honey and rich wine notes develops into chocolate-covered plums, raisins and figs, with roasted nuts and gentle spice adding further depth. The palate is thick and richly textured, delivering dried fruits, plum jam and dark chocolate alongside walnuts, earthy herbs and warming baking spices. The Oloroso influence is prominent without completely overwhelming Blair Athol’s weighty malt character. The finish is long and warming, with cocoa, dark chocolate, dried fruits and roasted nuts gradually giving way to seasoned oak, herbs and lingering spice.
