Distilled in 2022 and bottled exclusively for The Antelope, this release captures the fresh and vibrant character of Shindo’s early spirit while showcasing the influence of carefully selected cask maturation. Founded in Kyushu, a region renowned for its pure water sources and ideal maturation climate, Shindo Distillery represents the new generation of Japanese whisky production focused on small batch craftsmanship and expressive spirit character. This single cask bottling was specifically selected for The Antelope, highlighting a distinctive cask profile that balances youthful energy with surprising depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
Fresh orchard fruits, green apple and white peach open alongside delicate floral aromas, vanilla cream and soft malt sweetness. The palate delivers layers of honey, citrus zest, toasted oak and creamy confectionery balanced by subtle spice and a gentle mineral character. Hints of coconut, melon and light pepper develop through the mid-palate, reflecting the vibrant nature of the young spirit and active cask influence. The finish is clean, elegant and lingering, carrying notes of vanilla, sweet oak, citrus oils and soft warming spice.
