The Michiel Wigman 2009 Fettercairn 14 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a vibrant Highland release distilled in January 2009 and bottled in February 2023 as part of the acclaimed “Gems of Scotland” series. Matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at natural cask strength, this single cask expression highlights the bright tropical fruit character and oily texture that modern Fettercairn whisky has become increasingly celebrated for among whisky enthusiasts.

This release features artwork from the “Embo Beach” label series designed by Hans Dilesse, combining contemporary visual art with carefully selected single cask Scotch whiskies. Michiel Wigman’s Gems of Scotland bottlings are recognised for showcasing distinctive distillery character through small-batch and single cask releases aimed at collectors and enthusiasts seeking unique independent bottlings.
On the nose, expect tropical fruits, vanilla cream, citrus zest and soft oak layered with honeyed malt sweetness. The palate is rich and oily with notes of pineapple, ripe orchard fruits, toasted coconut, caramel and gentle spice balanced by fresh citrus acidity. The finish is long and elegant, carrying lingering vanilla, oak warmth and delicate tropical fruit notes that beautifully reflect the modern Highland character of Fettercairn.
